Trendy; but Tricky

Palazzo pants
palazzo pants, cute
wind blew, from bus to curb, butt
flopped on the concrete

Trendy; but Tricky is written for the Tanka Tuesday challenge hosted by Melissa. She invites us to have fun and experiment with haiku.

The poem I wrote is based on a true story. Back in the day, in the 90s I had on Palazzo pants. It was a cute two-piece set. So, I thought I was cute until… getting off the bus, the wind blew my pants and tripped me. I fell right on the curb where my butt met the concrete. It hit me that I fell in front of all the passengers on the bus and people in the establishment at the stop.

Just imagine, strutting your strut then the embarrassment brings you back to reality. At least the bus driver asked me if I was okay. I saw him fighting back his laugh as he drove off. A funny memory indeed. Trendy but tricky, beware. 😁

As always, thank you for visiting! πŸ’–πŸ™πŸ½

Oh, no! One time I tripped in flip flops in the snow and fell down a flight of stairs. I actually slid down…on my butt. Not quite the same type of experience, definitely a fashion faux pas.

Yes, good memories. And it could have been worse, I think the embarrassment hurt more than hitting the ground, lol πŸ˜ƒI’m glad I can laugh about it now. Thank you for stopping by! πŸ™πŸ½

Yvette, right, I loved Palazzo pants too. Just be careful when it is windy out, lol. πŸ™‚ I’m glad you enjoyed the story. Thank you! πŸ™πŸ½

πŸ˜€- cute and breezy made me smile I think those pants need a wearing label – β€˜ Wear with caution on breezy transit days, or prepare to meet the pavement!’ Great write πŸ‘
