palazzo pants, cute
wind blew, from bus to curb, butt
flopped on the concrete
Trendy; but Tricky is written for the Tanka Tuesday challenge hosted by Melissa. She invites us to have fun and experiment with haiku.
The poem I wrote is based on a true story. Back in the day, in the 90s I had on Palazzo pants. It was a cute two-piece set. So, I thought I was cute until… getting off the bus, the wind blew my pants and tripped me. I fell right on the curb where my butt met the concrete. It hit me that I fell in front of all the passengers on the bus and people in the establishment at the stop.
Just imagine, strutting your strut then the embarrassment brings you back to reality. At least the bus driver asked me if I was okay. I saw him fighting back his laugh as he drove off. A funny memory indeed. Trendy but tricky, beware. π
As always, thank you for visiting! πππ½

Oh, no! One time I tripped in flip flops in the snow and fell down a flight of stairs. I actually slid downβ¦on my butt. Not quite the same type of experience, definitely a fashion faux pas.
Melissa, wow it sounds like we both had the same ending result! π² Thank you for sharing. ππ
Oh you poor thing! I know how this goes. One time, I tripped over my shoes in the middle of a party! π I’m still a klutz. π
Oh no, Colleen. Heels can be tricky too. I’m glad we can look back on it and laugh now! π
Ah, memories, and at your expense I smiled, it could have been worse I suppose, but in the least these are the moments that add to our story.
Yes, good memories. And it could have been worse, I think the embarrassment hurt more than hitting the ground, lol πI’m glad I can laugh about it now. Thank you for stopping by! ππ½

π- cute and breezy made me smile I think those pants need a wearing label – β Wear with caution on breezy transit days, or prepare to meet the pavement!β Great write π
Ange, thank you so much. You are correct those pants definitely need a disclaimer. I’m glad you enjoyed! ππ½π
A funny memory in the retrospective.
