Can You Answer This? If You Only Had One Pick, What City Would You Visit?

If You Only Had One Pick, What City Would You Visit?

Miami, Florida

Beautiful places abound in the world. We don’t always get to travel to those places. The reasons range from busy schedules, finances, to family obligations and so on. If you can pick only one city, where would you go?

Would you go to the south to New Orleans aka (Norlans), Louisiana? Known for its jazz music, rich Cajun and Creole cuisine and historic French Quarter.

Charleston, South Carolina is another historic place also known for their diverse food. The coastal waters and southern charm are also a sight or sore eyes.

Travel up the east coast to New York City, NY. The city that doesn’t sleep. Visit Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge. If you are into theater, the city is in no short supply. You can find lots of things to do and many places to eat. Don’t forget to grab a slice of pizza or a Sabrett hot dog.

Go West to the city of San Francisco, California. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge. Try great food in San Francisco. The roads are steep but there are many different neighborhoods to see.

Miami, Florida is a vibrant city. The warm and clear water is beautiful. Miami is a city rich in culture and history. Check out Little Havana. Also, Miami has amazing architecture. The night life is one of its attractions too.

Which of these cities would you pick to visit, if you only had your choice of one? If your city of choice is not one on the list, leave a comment. Tell us about it and why you would visit that city over others.

Thank you for reading💞🙏🏽

Compulsion; or Obsession

What's in my feed, begin the scroll
New gossip, for a new day is on the rise
Lots of drama and trash talk, hooray
Right at my fingertips, where is my phone

New gossip, for a new day is on the rise
Who got cancelled, who got dissed
Right at my fingertips, where is my phone
Running late for work I'm drawn in

Who got cancelled, who got dissed
Put the phone down, iron my clothes
Running late for work I'm drawn in
What is wrong with me, why am I like this

Put the phone down, iron my clothes
I need therapy, I'm hooked on social media
What is wrong with me, why am I like this
I'm obsessed, how can I get out of this mess

I need therapy, I'm hooked on social media
Lots of drama and trash talk, hooray
I'm obsessed, how can I get out of this mess
Oh well; what's in my feed, begin the scroll

Compulsion; or Obsession is written for the W3 prompt. Reena challenges us to write a pantoum on any subject or theme. I am not quite sure that I completed the challenge correctly, but I gave it a try anyway. Thank you, Reena and David for the inspiration.

The topic I explored is being obsessed with the cell phone and scrolling on social media. The person knows that she has a problem but resigns to the addiction of social media. It’s a downward spiral and cycle that many struggle to get out of.

Wildflowers; or Olive Branch

Flowers for you
Remember the time you found
A hole in the wall
Well, maybe two or three

Or maybe when your shoe
Was lost, I needed to chew
An expensive pair too

How about when you told
Me to sit or stay
I turned and ran away

You deserve these flowers
For all the times I disobeyed
Please, please forgive me

How 'bout it, what do you say?

Wildflowers; or Olive Branch was written for Sadje’s prompt WDYS. Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy 😊

Simmering Seasons

Autumn
cooler air
fall
through window seeps

greenery
fades
umber shines bright

nature's turn
for
introspection

Thank you for spending time with my blog. Simmering Seasons was written for the Tanka Tuesday prompt by Melissa. Thank you, Melissa and Colleen.

What’s in a Title?

How do you come up with your titles?

Writing is a different journey for everyone. Short stories, poetry, novels and crime stories. The choices are many.

Do you title your piece after you have finished writing? Maybe, you have the idea in mind from the start, so you build your story that way.

The title can make or break what you are trying to say. It can reveal the main point or give enough to spark curiosity. Either it will grab the attention of readers or send them on to the next thing.

I pose the following questions:
How important is the title?
Does the body of work matter most or the title?

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Thank you for stopping by today! 🙏🏽♥️
