What Goes Boo in the Night

A creak on the stairs
A scream in the night
Don’t look now
It’s Halloween night

Goblins and ghosts
Are doing the most
Haunting and scaring
And not even caring

They only get one night
One chance to spook
Plotting their show
Of Boo’s both to and fro

All this fright does not keep
Children from dressing up
Going door to door
Collecting candy and more

Showing off their costume
Anxious to get home to consume
All the sugar they can manage
Not caring about tooth damage

The night is over
Put the costume away
Lurking in the dark
Your fears tend to stay

Rest your head
Close your eyes
Sun shining bright
It’s no longer
Halloween night
