Remnants of hot summer days
Remain in my heart
Days of double dutch, tag
Jacks, dodge ball, have made a depart
Lessons of friendship, community
Acceptance, family and humility
Still lovingly lingering
Hardships, trials of life
Showing no immunity
Gratitude, compassion, thankfulness
Rising steadily
Remnants of Childhood was written in response to the W3 #164 prompt.

The joys of childhood well captured!
Thank you so much! 🙏😊
O’Nika,
captures such vivid joy—I can almost hear the laughter and feel the pavement heat. The way you balance nostalgia with wisdom really resonates with me.
Much love,
David
Thank you, David! Sometimes as kids we rush to grow up not realizing how good we have it. The fun and happy times of just being. I carry the joy with me as much as possible. 🙏💛
A beautiful poem of gratitude O’Nika
Thank you so much, Sadje! 🙏
