Sweeping Treescape

A Double Etheree

Trees
stand tall
swaying side
left right fast slow
breeze constructs movement
leaves obeying the wind
trying not to blow away
maple elm fir oak spruce birch pine
retaining the treescape with beauty
evergreen erect regal towering

Canopy preserving abodes families
cleaning the air providing shade too
pine needles falling on rooftops
lasting fragrance by nature
beautiful to the eyes
suited for picnics
summer hot days
play eat smile
rejoice
breathe

The poem titled, Sweeping Treescape is written in response to the prompt.

Very nice It was like you were outside with nature when you wrote this and the sky and trees where your audience made me feel like I was there great poem O’NIKA

Louis, thank you so much for the compliment! πŸ₯°πŸ™ I have fun writing this one, it is the first of this this style poem that I have done.

I love trees and I love etherees , so your double etheree gives me double joy! The list of tree names is almost like an incantation. And the ending is perfect:
‘play eat smile/rejoice/breathe.’ Reading ‘Treescape’ makes me very very happy. 😍

Thank you so much for the compliment! I am experimenting with different forms of poetry and this is the first double etheree I have done. I had fun with it. So glad to hear that you enjoyed it! πŸ™πŸ˜Š

O’Nika, your double etheree feels both grounded and uplifting. I love how it captures the treescape’s quiet strength and generous spirit with such graceful rhythm.

Much love,
David
