Can You Answer This? Is a Man or Woman More Capable of Love?

Is a Man or Woman More Capable of Love?

Photo by Nathan Nichols on Unsplash

Both men and women have lost in love at least once. Some are fortunate enough to have found their true love. I say true love because there is a difference in saying you love someone and showing it. Do you think men are more capable of love than women? It depends on who you ask and their experience with love.

In my opinion, I think women are more capable of love. The reason is because women are nurturers and mothers and as such, more accepting. I don’t believe that you can be accepting without love. You have to start with love in order to accept or nurture something or someone.

Don’t get me wrong, men are capable too. I have seen it. It does exist. We must give them credit. I think the thing that holds some men back is feeling less masculine when showing their loving or nurturing side.

Can you answer this? Is a man or woman more capable of love? What do you think?

Can You Answer This? What Does Home Mean to You?

Can You Answer This? What does home mean to you?

When you think of home does it make you smile? Home is a safe haven away from everything else. It is the place where you can be yourself. It’s where you go to rest and recharge after a hard day at work. Think of it as your sanctuary.

What I’m saying is that a home is more than just bricks and wood on a cement slab. It’s a place to relax while watching a good movie. Also, one of the best places to enjoy a meal with family. A peaceful place to gather your thoughts and meditate, if you want to.

If home does not resonate in a positive way, think of ways to change that and make it a happy place for you. It’s the least you can do for your wellbeing. 😉 I know it is not always possible to have a quiet moment if you have small children. Just find a space and/or corner of the house to call your own. Make it your go-to place in those moments of stress. Call it whatever you want in order to recharge your mind.

So, what does home mean to you?

Can You Answer This? Why Are You Thankful?

Can You Answer This? Why Are You Thankful? What are you giving thanks for? We have all heard the saying, this is the season for giving. But I pose the question, what are you giving thanks for? Some of us are thankful to have our health and some are thankful to have their pockets full of cash. Material things are nice to have too but they cannot give you a hug or a kiss. You can’t confide in a new car or electronic device. You can’t cry on the shoulder of a new pair of shoes or other clothing items. You get where I’m going with this.

Give Thanks

Giving is such a great feeling and it benefits both the giver and the
receiver. As the human race, we all have different paths to walk in life, so there are different things that affect us. The thing to remember is that we only get one chance to do this. We don’t get a do-over. So, I ask again; what are you giving thanks for? Personally, I am thankful for the people in my life. Both near and far. So, be it a roof over your head, a job/career, a car to get back and forth, children, spouse, family. Nothing is too small to measure.

Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving holiday!!

Stay blessed and be well!

Are you Superstitious?

Superstition Definition & Meaning – Merriam-Webster

Superstition- a widely held but unjustified belief in supernatural causation leading to certain consequences of an action or event, or a practice based on such a belief

Are you superstitious? What exactly are superstitions? They are things that people perceive as true but really are not. I have heard some of these over the years and just when I thought I heard them all; another one pops up. Which ones have you heard and/or believe in?

  • You will have bad luck if a black cat crosses your path
  • Keep the chain letter going or you will have 7 years of bad luck
  • Don’t split the pole when walking with another person

Can You Answer This? What is Your Take on Re-gifting?

Can You Answer This? What is Your Take on Re-gifting?

The holiday season is upon us. What do you say about re-gifting? Do you think it is perfectly fine to re-gift something that you have received, then give it to someone else? Do you find it rude? Let’s hear what you think about this. If you are someone who believes in re-gifting, are there rules to this? Some people call it recycling, reusing or not wasting. I have also heard it called re-purposing.

Re-gifting

I always feel like a gift is a gift. It is the thought that counts. If someone took the time and money to pick something out for me, I appreciate it. I don’t know that I can honestly say, I would be okay with someone re-gifting a present I gave to them. Something to think about. Where do you stand on the subject?

Can You Answer This? Name One of Your Favorite Cartoon Characters

Photo by Lalith Thomala on Unsplash

Can You Answer This? Name one of your favorite cartoon characters and tell us why.

Back in the day cartoons were something that most kids looked forward to watching on Saturday mornings. After school was a popular time to watch too.

One of my favorite cartoon characters is Wile E. Coyote. He was a villain, but I admire his tenacity. No matter how many times he was run over, smashed with a boulder, hit in the head and blown up with dynamite; he never gave up!! He had some determination in his quest to catch Road Runner.

Even though Road Runner outsmarted him, Wile E. would plot out his attempts and see them through, no matter what. He didn’t let any obstacle stand in his way! I can’t count how many times he has fallen from a cliff and still came back. He is resilient! Gotta love that. 🙂

Tell us who you pick and why.

Can You Answer This? Is the North or South a Better Place to Live?

THE NORTH

If you have ever been anywhere up North, you know that most places are full of energy. Living in the North gives you street knowledge that you can take with you, no matter where you go. You might think that street knowledge is nothing but it really is valuable.

There is always something to do or somewhere to go up North. Let’s say that you wake up at 1:00 am and want a sandwich. Well, you can go to the corner Bodega and get a Pastrami sandwich, Ham and Cheese or a Veggie. They used to sell Buttered rolls on a Kaiser bun too. I know you might say, who wants a sandwich with just butter?! Don’t knock it until you try it. Maybe you want a slice of pizza, you can probably get that too at the Pizzeria.

A lot places up North stay open late so you can go out and have a good time. Stay as long as you want and not have to rush home. Living in the North costs a little more and you don’t get as much space for your buck. If you want a little more “plush” in your neighborhood, living in South Jersey is nice. Pennsylvania has some nice parts as well that are not all concrete. Connecticut is also a nice state. You can find nice parts in about all the States.

Some of the things to look out for living in the North are people trying to rob you. It is a little stressful living up north with the traffic and aggressive drivers. You have to always be on guard and watching your surroundings. The minute someone sees you slippin’, that’s when you will get got! Don’t speak to people you don’t know and do not, repeat DO NOT stare at anyone up North. This is not a good thing.

The Good

  • The North has neighborhood schools. Kids can go to school with people they know and who live in their neighborhood. They are not riding a noxious school bus for hours to and from school.
  • Convenient lifestyle. You can find anything you want or need at virtually any time of day or night.
  • Plenty of things to do and places to go. There is an abundance of places to go and things to do.
  • Higher salaries. People make more money living up North compared to salaries down South.
  • Wide selection of clothing. There is no shortage of places to go shopping. It is not hard to find a last-minute outfit for any occasion.
  • Easy to get around. You can take the bus, train, Uber, Lyft, etc or better yet, walk. You are not dependent on a car to get from point A to B.

The Bad

  • The North also comes with higher cost of living for smaller spaces.
  • Higher crime rates are also in a lot of Northern parts of the world.
  • Densely populated areas make for more cramped living.
  • Most parts of the North are concrete. A lot of locations do not have a lot of grass or trees.
  • The noise level with people blowing the horn.

THE SOUTH

The South is a lot greener compared to its Northern counterparts. There are a lot of trees and grass to be found. Your money can stretch a lot further with real estate in the South. You get a lot more land, interior space and amenities for your money. The environment in the South is a lot more laid back and relaxed. Everyone is not in such a rush; most of the time.

The Good

  • Greener pastures. More trees and grass make for better air quality.
  • Slower pace. Less stressful than living up North. Most people in the South move at their own pace, very slowly.
  • Friendly people.
  • More amenities for your money when it comes to housing.
  • Lower cost of living; but some parts of the South are catching up to the North.

The Bad

  • Busing to and from school. Some kids have to ride a school bus and the ride can last up to 2 hours. Kids are zoned in schools that may not be close to where they live.
  • Humid climate. If you like the heat but without the added humidity, the South may not be for you.
  • Car dependent. You have to drive to most places in the South. A lot of southern areas have limited or no public transportation.

As you can see, both parts of the world have their good points and bad. It all depends on your lifestyle and your personal preferences. You might prefer more space and a lower salary. You might prefer to live close to other people and being able to get around easily. Where do you think is the better place to live, up North or down South?

Can You Answer This? Is forgiveness or justice more important?

Forgiveness
Photo by Melanie Stander on Unsplash

Welcome back to Can You Answer This? I will start this off by answering the question. Is forgiveness or justice more important? I would definitely say that it depends on the situation. If you are on the receiving end of a crime, justice may be the first and only thing that comes to mind. I say that because if someone has committed a crime against you, of course you want them to pay for what they did. It sets the tone for others to think twice before doing the same thing, when a person or person(s) are prosecuted for their misdeeds. Some people learn from this, but others don’t. This is not a perfect world so we cannot be surprised by what we see going on.

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

If the crime only involved material things and something was stolen, then forgiveness comes into play. Things can always be replaced. On the other hand, if the crime involved losing a loved one then justice needs to prevail. Sadly, a lot of these cases do not end in justice.

Forgiveness is not only for the person who committed the crime but also for the victim. If someone has hurt you in some way and you choose to forgive, it has an advantage to you too. That advantage is that it lifts some burden and stress from your life. When we forgive, it allows us to move on and not let it hold us back. I’m not saying that we forget what happened but it gives us some level of peace to be able to forgive. If we want others to forgive us for our mistakes, we must forgive too.

Can You Answer This?

What is something that you were once afraid of but are not scared of now?

This can be a fear of spiders or a fear of flying, or maybe you are afraid of heights. Some people are afraid of clowns. Anything that comes to mind that you have overcome. It can be something funny or something serious. Anything you would like to share. Please tell us how you overcame this fear. It might help someone else out there who is experiencing the same thing.

I will start off with… (but don’t laugh)

Michael Myers from Halloween. I was traumatized as a child! You hear me; TRAUMATIZED by Michael Myers when this movie first came out. (I see you laughing).

It took me years, but I realized that this is a fictional character. He is not hiding in my closet or standing behind the curtain. I forced myself to watch him in the Halloween movies, even though I was terrified! The scariest thing about him was the mask and the music from the movie.

Now, I love Michael Myers. He is my favorite scary movie character 😉

Have fun with it. Can you answer this?
