The universal language which we know as music has changed over the decades. Who remembers 8 tracks??? We also had cassette tapes, vinyl records, CDs and now the new age of streaming.
In Part 1, Music and How we Listen I will delve a little into the way we listened to music back in the days of 8 tracks and cassette tapes. Also, how to fix that cassette when it either pops or gets tangled.
In addition to the sound of music, I also enjoyed the artwork that came in the package. The case of the cassettes, and CDs. Also, album covers. You get to really see the visual creativity along with hearing the way the artist creates with their lyrics and sounds.
Music and How We Listen will continue in Part 2. The next part is more about vinyl records, CDs and streaming music.
A video message about how we can examine our lives and see where we can make changes for personal growth. It is easy to get stuck in the same ole ritual and routines. Before you know it, you look up and discover that 2 years have gone by and things are just as they were this whole time.
In this video, I will share some ideas to get started on a path of growth and challenging ourselves. If you find yourself feeling stuck or stagnant; don’t fret, we can always change things. The rewards are great when we do. We feel a sense of achievement, we make ourselves more open to trying new things and we also get a boost in confidence.
Get out your pen and paper and take notes. It may feel like a homework assignment, but it will be one of the the best investments of time that we can pour into ourselves!
“Not everything that is faced can be changed but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”-James Baldwin
The first thing we are going to do is compile a list. Review that list and ask yourself the following questions:
Am I learning anything from this activity?
Am I growing mentally, emotionally or physically?
Does this activity challenge me?
Secondly, seek out new activities
Do some research, talk to people you know who may make a suggestion
Try to pick something that is not your usual go-to or something that you may not have been interested in before, try it now
Lastly, challenge yourself by overcoming a fear
Ex: if you are afraid of heights, if you feel socially awkward or are afraid to speak in public.
I hope you find the information in this video useful. As always, thank you for watching.
Thank you for stopping by! Stay well and be blessed! 💖

Flutter, Flutter is an original poem written in response to the picture prompt by Sadje.
Posture me blue Sitting arms at side Bored to tears, statuesque Striking movement in stride Bending at the waist Derriere and floor become one Arm cradling head Exhale stress and dread Chin pressed to chest Relaxed, I posture, rest My birthday suit at its best Relaxed, I imbue serene Posture me blue
Posture Me Blue is written in response to the word prompt.
Do you like to walk, jog, use the treadmill or elliptical? Lifting weights, pilates and aerobics are other forms of physical fitness. There are many ways to exercise. Try the form of exercise that is fun, pick something you enjoy. Don’t forget about jumping rope, hula hoops, and dancing.
Exercise is one of those things that people either love or hate. The most important thing to remember is that exercise helps us in other areas of life. If you get stuck or miss a day or 2, just continue. Don’t give up! Keep pushing! You got this!

Social media is here to stay. Do you think it strengthens or destroys meaningful real-life connections? It can go either way. I think it all depends on how you use it and how much of it you consume.
Some people live by social media. What I mean by that is that some people take what they see and hear online and apply it to their personal lives. They start to believe everthing they see and they lose the autonomy of their own personal beliefs.
Social media is used for a variety of reasons. Some people use it to help boost their business. Others use it for personal entertainment, recreational use. It can be a tool to use to showcase your hobbies and personal endeavors. If you are a singer or an artist. Maybe you want to share some educational information.
SM can strengthen connections because you can find useful information about some things in your life and gain a better understanding. You may be looking for a way to empathize with someone in your life and form a better relationship with them. It can open the doors for communication and bridge the gap for some situations.
It can be destructive when people are purposly using it as a means to hurt others. Trolling and saying hurtful things to others. It’s like cyberbullying. Other times people hear stories about infidelity and then they start thinking negative of their mates.
The key to it, in my opinion, is to limit the time spent on social media. Also, know what you believe in and stay true to that. We all are entitled to our opinions and that’s what it is, opinion. Sometimes we confuse it with facts. Just remember that we had real life before social media. Real life is always better than the internet. Have fun with it, make others smile, inform, share your gifts.
The Isle of Ova, a place to heal. Health takes an ugly turn and the aftermath of solving one problem, brings on another entire set of new ones. The Isle of Ova is a place for reflection. Healing can begin when you take time to really sit and think about things that transpire.
Life is such a magical wonder. Such small organs of a woman’s body have so many beneficial and essential functions. Modern technology in medicine makes it possible to take care of uterine fibroids and other women’s health problems. This poem was written in recognition of Fibroid Awareness Month.
Dear Ovaries You hold the beginning Until time to go down the halls Into the incubator
The incubator which awaits the sperm Fertilizing, growing, forming Just what mother nature intended Creating life, performing
Dear Ovaries Release protecting hormones Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone Supporting libido all the way through Helping with strength of my bones
Dear Ovaries Regulating hormonal balances Body temperature, sleep cycle Emotional and physical health alike
Ovaries, I bid you farewell Fibroids, ovarian cysts invading space Pain, bleeding, energy drained Quality of life displaced
Pain and bleeding stopped, energy restored New set of angst replaced Hot flashes, insomnia, moodiness and night sweats A sense of loss and new body shape
HRT, calcium, vitamin D Bones slowly restoring health Libido in the wind Wondering if you will ever see it again
Dear Ovaries Such an organ to behold Your functions, more precious than gold Oophorectomy means to take A woman's core keepsake
Healing On the Isle of Ova is written in response to the W3 Prompt #169.
If you ever question whether or not to stand up for what you believe in, remember this quote. "It takes nothing to join the crowd. It takes everything to stand alone." Hans F. Hansen
Joining the crowd can mean being a part of community. Coming together with others who share the same view. Standing alone can be very sobering. It forces you to quickly realize that you no longer have the village with you.
Either way, it does not matter as long as you are being true to your beliefs and standards. How do you interpret this quote?
Trees stand tall swaying side left right fast slow breeze constructs movement leaves obeying the wind trying not to blow away maple elm fir oak spruce birch pine retaining the treescape with beauty evergreen erect regal towering
Canopy preserving abodes families cleaning the air providing shade too pine needles falling on rooftops lasting fragrance by nature beautiful to the eyes suited for picnics summer hot days play eat smile rejoice breathe
The poem titled, Sweeping Treescape is written in response to the prompt.
What Is the Biggest Misconception About Human Connection?
Human Connection
We make all kinds of connections in the world. We connect with each other in person, by email and online. Do you ever stop to think about these connections and how they are formed? Some of us connect by a common interest; say music for example. We might have a quick conversation with someone at the record shop. Yes, there are still some around. But outside of that, the conversation is null and void.
Does it mean that since the two of you love the same kind of music that you are friends?
The misconception is the thinking that because you are in agreement with something or someone, that you have a deep connection. I’ll give another example. If you see someone who wears the same type of clothing as you, you assume that the two of you are the same. I caution that this is a misconception. Just because someone looks like you, does not mean that the two of you think alike or have the same interests and can form a bond on just the outer looks alone.
Another misconception is that if a person does not really talk to you often but you cross paths with them, that they do not care for you or are not fond of you. Sometimes, it can be that that person is shy or afraid to spark up a conversation. Do not assume that because you see someone frequently and the two of you exchange few words that there is animosity.
We can also confuse a person doing a nice gesture for us as their way of inviting us into their lives. It can just be that; a nice random gesture.
What I am trying to get at is that sometimes we connect with others solely based on one mutual interest. Does that mean that we can relate and connect with them in most other areas of life? Values such as their beliefs about family, marriage, children. Their opinions about politics. This is always a slippery slope. Maybe they have different beliefs on religion that are opposite from what we believe in.
Can you answer this? What is the biggest misconception about human connection?
Connections are the link The link that binds Binds 2 places or two things What things and places?
The gap between resentment and love Bridging the gap between the two takes what? Connections
Resentment is coming down really fast Over the edge the water cascades down The bridge there as a buffer Mediating between resentment and love
Once love is conquered Renewed love starts to flow Water under the bridge moves Just as fast it tides below
Communication bridging connection The bridge of communication leads to understanding Understanding opens hearts wide and far Once hearts are open; the bridge leads to loving-kindness
Flowy Water Under the Bridge is written in response to the picture prompt.
