A video message about how we can examine our lives and see where we can make changes for personal growth. It is easy to get stuck in the same ole ritual and routines. Before you know it, you look up and discover that 2 years have gone by and things are just as they were this whole time.
In this video, I will share some ideas to get started on a path of growth and challenging ourselves. If you find yourself feeling stuck or stagnant; don’t fret, we can always change things. The rewards are great when we do. We feel a sense of achievement, we make ourselves more open to trying new things and we also get a boost in confidence.
Get out your pen and paper and take notes. It may feel like a homework assignment, but it will be one of the the best investments of time that we can pour into ourselves!
“Not everything that is faced can be changed but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”-James Baldwin
The first thing we are going to do is compile a list. Review that list and ask yourself the following questions:
Secondly, seek out new activities
Lastly, challenge yourself by overcoming a fear
Ex: if you are afraid of heights, if you feel socially awkward or are afraid to speak in public.
I hope you find the information in this video useful. As always, thank you for watching.
Thank you for stopping by! Stay well and be blessed! 💖

Flying high and low
Landing for a peek inside
Unique beings and places
Telling their stories
Tantalizing hues of light
Ethereal I appear to some
Reassuring, you are not alone

We make all kinds of connections in the world. We connect with each other in person, by email and online. Do you ever stop to think about these connections and how they are formed? Some of us connect by a common interest; say music for example. We might have a quick conversation with someone at the record shop. Yes, there are still some around. But outside of that, the conversation is null and void.
Does it mean that since the two of you love the same kind of music that you are friends?
The misconception is the thinking that because you are in agreement with something or someone, that you have a deep connection. I’ll give another example. If you see someone who wears the same type of clothing as you, you assume that the two of you are the same. I caution that this is a misconception. Just because someone looks like you, does not mean that the two of you think alike or have the same interests and can form a bond on just the outer looks alone.
Another misconception is that if a person does not really talk to you often but you cross paths with them, that they do not care for you or are not fond of you. Sometimes, it can be that that person is shy or afraid to spark up a conversation. Do not assume that because you see someone frequently and the two of you exchange few words that there is animosity.
We can also confuse a person doing a nice gesture for us as their way of inviting us into their lives. It can just be that; a nice random gesture.
What I am trying to get at is that sometimes we connect with others solely based on one mutual interest. Does that mean that we can relate and connect with them in most other areas of life? Values such as their beliefs about family, marriage, children. Their opinions about politics. This is always a slippery slope. Maybe they have different beliefs on religion that are opposite from what we believe in.
Can you answer this? What is the biggest misconception about human connection?

Connections are the link
The link that binds
Binds 2 places or two things
What things and places?
The gap between resentment and love
Bridging the gap between the two
takes what? Connections
Resentment is coming down really fast
Over the edge the water cascades down
The bridge there as a buffer
Mediating between resentment and love
Once love is conquered
Renewed love starts to flow
Water under the bridge moves
Just as fast it tides below
Communication bridging connection
The bridge of communication leads to understanding
Understanding opens hearts wide and far
Once hearts are open; the bridge leads to loving-kindness
Flowy Water Under the Bridge is written in response to the picture prompt.

Tears of Understanding- A poem about judgments and cultivating relationships. Building relationships with people can sometimes be hindered by unfair judgments. We can avoid assumptions about each other by taking the time to have a conversation or simply asking a question.
Please don't misunderstand
what's that you hear
yeah, smothered
tears tears tears
Please don't misunderstand
not being heard, but seen instead
seeing me me me
Please don't misunderstand
seeing me is not my clothes
not my hair
and definitely not my face
nah nah nah
Please understand
my brotha, my sista
Black woman I am
Boricua I am
My complexion mine
your complexion yours
my inflection mine mine mine
your perplexion yours yours yours
Please understand
you will never understand
the whys, I give benefit of doubt
because it was not given to me
Underestimated
Misjudged
Misunderstood
Even hated
Please understand
my silence, my strength
to the underlying slick tongue
the slick tongue that takes jabs at my person
Please understand, no overstand
my shoes you cannot walk in
they were not made for you
your shoes not made for me
Even still, you hold your truth
I hold mine, the same but different
tears tears tears, of not sadness
Tears for you you you
Judgments you hold for me
are really for you you you
Understand?!

A Tanka
Why such a hurry
People move in a scurry
No time for hello
Passersby in a flurry
Sitting I watch and worry

—Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. —

Change is upon us every day. Whether we are ready for it or not. It happens. Sometimes in that changing, we get stumped. We may not know what direction to take or what exactly we need to do.
It is not easy to change things about ourselves. The uncertainty and not knowing what will happen next. I just implore you to follow your heart. Love yourself and others.
Stay well and be blessed. 🙏❤️
Can you answer this? What would you do if you see your friend is hurting and you are not sure how to help?
Would you do nothing
Secretly pray for them
Offer help in a way you think is helpful
Of course, a friend is someone we love and never want to see in pain. If you are unsure of the best way to help them, what would you do?

Theoretically speaking, you wonder if
Happenstance has come to the forefront
Eliciting answers about this thing
Offering no more cues than when it began
Responding with conjecture, whispering, gossip
Entertaining the masses with your theory
Trying not to let others around you
In on the fact that you want to know
Curiosity killed the cat
And still, you don't stop
Letting your mind drift about the situation
Learning that this is someone else's reality
Yearning for truth about today's morbid curiosity
Theoretically Speaking of Morbid Curiosity is written in response to the word prompt by Sammi Cox.

Bunions roam free by the sea
A place untapped for this sort of thing
A place where the Bunion can be itself
It can come out in public without judgement
For the Bunion is not afraid
By the sea, no cover up is needed
Just pure, unadulterated glory and freedom
Oh by the sea, let the Bunions breathe
